Cambodia Project Week 6

We have now come to the midway point of our trip and we can't believe how fast time is flying by! This week has been a mixed bag of sorts, with lots of training being prepared and delivered to the cleft advisors, alongside seeing a wide range of patients.

We have seen a few patients this week who have had late cleft palate repairs, whereby a lot of the speech sound errors they made were very habitual. The advice we provided is very dependent upon the patients fully acknowledging any inaccuracies they are making…

Cambodia Project Week 5

So we had a great week off for Pchum Benh. We learnt that this is a religious festival held to bless the souls of deceased relatives and friends through offerings made at temples. Everyone has been really friendly as usual, and made us feel welcome in joining in with the celebrations.

Cambodia Project Week 3

It's the end of another week's work at the Children's Surgical Centre (CSC) and the National Paediatric Hospital (NPH). It's been quite quiet on the patient front, as everyone is busy preparing for the upcoming Pchum Benh week long national holiday. Therefore, much of the week has instead been spent completing intensive training with the cleft advisors.
